Thanks to my Mom and Dad, Carl and I enjoyed a few days away from the kids to celebrate our 5th year anniversary. We went to Arches. It was a lot of fun. We have never left the kids behind but they did well. It seemed weird for me to not have to buckle the kids in the carseats the first few times we got in and out of the car. It was also kind of different for me to not hear Kimee chatting in the backseat.. It was perfect weather and it was great to have time just the two of us. Next time we want to take the kids with us. We had 2 days and we did a lot of hiking in Arches. I wish we would have had one more day but for the sake of our out-of-shape bodies, our kids, and the grandparents it was probably a good thing we did only 2 days. It is such a beautiful place. It was nice to get out in nature and enjoy the peace and quiet. (Maybe the peace and quiet was due to not having the kids.....) Anyway, here are just a few pictures.
We did Devils Garden trail which takes you in a 7-mile
loop and you get to see about 9 arches. This was
us at Double O arch. These red flowers were beautiful
and amazing they could grow in the desert.
This is Landscape Arch, largest in the world I think. Then some
other arches.
This is the famous one. The shot on the right is from a
arch looking into Delicate Arch.
This is a cool dead tree.
