One Boy, One Girl

We had an ultrasound a little while back which told us that one was definitely a girl, and the other seemed to be a girl. (turns out that girl was a very modest boy) He was not modest today. Emilee went in for another ultrasound to check the twins' development, and the ultrasound tech was nice enough to offer a second opinion. Both babies were in a much better position for gender check this time around. We are very happy to announce that we are having one of each. Now, I don't have to worry about mixing them up in the hospital. :) Hope you like the pictures.

Art City Days

Our little town had Art City Days. We decided to go participate in some of the festivities

Things like this make me feel like summer is FINALLY here.

We went to the carnival. There was a lot of people there since we went on the cheap ticket day. We spent some time waiting in line, but it was worth it. The kids had a fun time. Ethan loved the car ride because he could turn the steering wheel and push lots of buttons. What 18-month-old boy wouldn't love that?

Kimee controlled this flying bug ride and as soon as the ride started she pulled the lever to go to the max height. She was the first one up in the air. Thrill seeker maybe... I think Ethan was a little scared at first but he liked it by the end.

Can't go the carnial without riding the carousel.

We also went to the hotair balloons. The kids enjoyed it and I enjoyed it for the fact that I have been going to hotair balloons with my dad for many years of my life. Now, I get to pass it on to my kids. The twins even got their first experience.

Then we did fireworks. Still no doubt whose son Ethan is.

Kimee's Bad Luck

I swear there is always something happening especially with active Ethan around. Most recently, Monday, Kimee broke her 3rd toe and fractured a bone right below in her foot. She really was just in the wrong place at the wrong time. She has had 2 broken bone incidents and neither one was really her fault per say.

Here's how it happened. I was getting something out of the back of car. Kimee and Ethan were by me when Ethan decided he could reach the trailer ball hitch and that was it would be funny to pull it off the tail gate. (The ideas that go through his head never cease to amaze to me.) His arms are way too long and way too fast. Of course, when he pulled it off it landed on Kimee's foot. (No shoes on) Kimee screamed and Ethan did his little evil laugh. I don't think he really knew what he was doing.

He was just proud he got the hitch out of the car and onto to the ground. Blood was flowing everywhere. The pin on the trailer cut her right between her toes. The cut was deep enough that I thought it needed medical attention.

After a long day, pretty much all day, at the doctors the conclusion was that the cut was almost to the bone. No stitches though due to the the risk of breaking the toe even worse and hopes that the skin would just heal by itself. How do you fix a broken toe? Well you just put the foot in a split and hope it heals. She had to be carried everywhere for the first day or so. My abs got a good work out. Thank goodness she can walk on it a little better. Now, the pain seems to be dwindling and it is just learning how to hobble around with the splint. She is pretty good at I must say.

We have been trying to do "inside" things but that is hard as the weather is nice. She can't do things that she like to do like ride her bike, play on the swing set, or jump on the tramp. We have been very creative in our activites building forts, shadow images in front of the flashlight, coloring, and reading. The idea she liked best was Grammies idea of this set that can make your own puppets. We had a ton of puppet shows. Here are her puppets.

The lion is named Mary Poppins. The monkey is named Curious George and the elephant is named Emilee. (What is this suppose to mean?) All by her choosing.. It days like these ones that makes me think what am I ever going to do with 4 kids.

A few months in review

We have not posted for awhile. The shock of the twins is still setting in and I am reminded daily that there are 2. Each one is distinctly active and at different times. We are getting closer to names but nothing final yet.

We had a few events happen so for a quick few months in review.
We had Easter. Did all the normal Easter stuff. Ethan learned quickly how to open the eggs once he knew there was candy inside.

In May, we went to Logan for Carl's MBA graduation at USU. It was little long for the kids. Luckily,my mom and dad went along to help. Ethan had a severe upset stomach and blew out 2 outfits. That is why he is naked in the picutres and the rest of us just look tired due to the slight heat and the long program. Even though he graduated, he had one class to finish. He has 2 more weekends and then he is DONE.. We are excited and hope to do more camping and fishing as his weekends will be open.

We also added some camping onto the the Logan graduation trip. This trip was fun and made me realize that we "needed" a bigger trailer. We upgraded to a little bigger, newer, more practical trailer so now we HAVE to go camping. We hope this one will last us a while. Here are the camping pictures.
