Uncle Andy

Uncle Andy is the coolest uncle Kimee's got, well at least on the Groesbeck side of the famiily. (He thinks he is so clever and sneaky as he added this himself while I was putting Kimee down for her nap. We decided to add this picture for him) He must have thought we were going to neglect him..

Here comes the cake!

She wasn't sure what to do with the cake. Daddy tried to show her by putting some in his mouth. As he was doing this, she opened her mouth, waiting to be fed, and then cried when Daddy ended up eating the cake. After a while Kimee had fun feeding Daddy cake! Obviously, Kimee is enjoying this more than Daddy.

Kimberlee's 1st Birthday

She wasn't quite sure what to think about all the excitement! We think she enjoyed herself, despite what the pictures show. The time has gone by very quickly. We love her!

Final Inspection!

Well, we made it. Today is July 10, 2008. Our foundation was poured on May 1, 2008. It's no world record by any means, but we are pleased with how fast we were able to complete the project. We had an initial final inspection on Tuesday morning. There were some very minor things to fix and they reinspected today. We passed, of course. There is a little bit of paint touch-up to take care of, but that's it.

You can finally see what color our wood laminate floor is. We had a cleaning crew come in yesterday, and they did a great job. In the background of this picture, you can see how excited Kimberlee is about her new house. We had to zoom in for a closer look.

Here are some more pictures of the finished product. I think we did quite well for our first try. I believe there are three metrics that can be used to measure home building success. Ask yourselves these three questions at the end of your next project:

1. Are we still married?

2. Are we within our budget?

3. Are we pleased with the finished product?

If you can honestly answer "yes" to these three questions, maybe it wouldn't be a bad idea to try building a new house in the future. I would recommend a little break, though, before jumping into the next project.

We hope you have enjoyed vewing the blog and seeing the progress in our house.

Don't forget the fireworks!

Kimme enjoyed spending time with Dad!

Kimee and Grandma Groesbeck

As you can tell Kimee wasn't too impressed by the fireworks.
Maybe next year we will get more of a reaction.

4th of July Fun

We started the morning off early (not quite early enough as most of the balloons were off the ground by time we got there) with the Balloon Festival in Provo. Emilee has gone since she was a young girl. (Not quite as young as Kimee though)
We have continued the tradition with our family, this being Kimee’s first time..

Countertops and Appliances Added

We have been slacking on keeping updated pictures of the house but we do have this picture of the kitchen. We were pretty excited to the countertops and the appliances this last week. We have our final inspection tomorrow. The house was cleaned (not by Emilee as she will have plenty of other oppertunities to do this) professionally today. Stay posted for pictures of the finishing touches!
